Otherside of 21st Century Healthcare

One of my friend recently met with an accident and was getting medical care at one of the good hospitals of bangalore... "Columbia Asia". He got so impressed with the facilities, hygiene...etc that he wrote a blog on it. He titled it as 21st Century Healthcare..... (read yourself.... I too got impressed by the blog as well as the facilities provided in the hospital).

But there is always the other side which shows exactly the opposite of what is being offered by A grade hospital...... other side of the "21st century health care" shows something else.

Few days back in NDTV news channel, revealed the reality of a hospital in Nation's Capital "New Delhi" Lok Nayak Jai Prakash hospital. Where three out of 10 babies born die. As per this report, the number of infant deaths is 10% higher than the national average. Many more things were revealed in this report by NDTV, read it.

Another incident reported by NDTV, a new born baby was in the incubator and there was a short cricut which led to fire and the baby got 80% burnt and while transferring the baby to a more reputed and highly equiped hospital, the baby died..... these are the facilities a hospital offers to the patients.

What is the purpose of a health care/hospital? A medical institution where sick or injured people are given medical or surgical care, correct. People go to hospital to get themselves treated, come off it healthy, cured. But the reality says... in 21st century, the purpose of hospital isn't to cure a patient but the earn money, get rich as soon as possible. Treat the person not as a medical patient but as "bakra" who unfortunately landed in the such kind of hospitals.

I am sure there would be lots of such incidents across India rather across the globe which we aren't aware. Should such hospital be closed by Govt or people should stop going there?
