Rab ne bana di jodi.... "There is extraordinary love story in every ordinary jodi"... thats the punch line of this movie.
What would attract audiance to a movie?
-- The Story/Script
-- The Casting/ their acting skills.
-- hot item songs
-- the sets/locations used in the movie.
-- etc
but for this movie trust me... none of these were applicable... what attracted was .... "SRK and Adi ek saath hain, kuchh to hoga, dekh to lo ek baar"
SRK shifting between an ordinary character "Surinder" to extraordinary character "Raj" who complains, log itne tight kapde kaise pehen lete hai... bahut daar hota hai..... what the hell was that btw. SRK getting married in an ordinary way and trying to impress/express his love to his wife in yet another so called extraordinary style. SRK had all the fucking charm that a local amirtsari lad would had to impress the girl.... "kabhi alvida na kahena... phir milege chalte chalte....". Oh yes how can i forget "haddipa"... this was the first word said by him while dancing or practising the dance. Don't forget to catchup the stupid role played by our Dasvidaniya hero "Vinay Pathak" who is capable of running the entire movie alone and here.... Sirji.... Pape... I love you.
On the other hand ... the lead heroine... "Anushka"... characterising the yet another ordinary girl who is looking for an extraordinary lovemate. No charm, no appeal... forget the sex appeal thats too far, who wants to participate in a "dancing jodi" competion... which is the main backdrop of the movie. The dance contest showcases couples of all races, colours, backgrounds and sexual preferences.
Taani (Anushka) wants to take part for the show, but she is not able to due to her husband's lack of fashion statement. Later on when Surinder finds out about his wife's wish to participate in the reality dance show, he undergoes a major change. Taani keeps falling in love with her changed husband..... well this the extraordinary love story in every ordinary jodi.
But yes... good thing is... the music is good for a must listen song.... haule haule..... and another song where Kajol/ Bipasha/ Lara/ Preity/ Rani appear on screen for a minute or so each, and SRK mimics Raj Kapoor/ Devanand/ Shammi Kapoor/ Rajesh Khanna/ Rishi Kapoor... to the fine tunes coupled with pathetic lyrics: um Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke, Fir Milenge Chalte Chalte, rating the movie as 5/10.
