"Your Mother too was a girl child... save the girl child", this is one of the best hoarding I have ever seen across a busy road in bangalore.
This caption reminded me of a small incident that happened with one of my friend. It goes this way.....
My friend took his wife to near by maternity hospital for the delivery. While he was waiting out side the OT, he met another guy who too was waiting for the final result.... :) Both of them were excited as well as nervous too...specially the other guy was damn nervous (as said by my friend). Soon the doctor came out rushing and congratulated this guy saying its a "baby girl". Congratulations.... :)
Immediately the doctor advised this guy not to go for another baby as it would be very dangerous for the mother (chances would of loosing her in the next delivery due internal damage, some medical damage the doctor said), so better get her operated for not having further babies. The doctor asked this guy should we go ahead and operate you wife. The guy responded wait, let me talk to my family members back at home and get the advice (basically the "permission" he quoted). Both the doctor and my friend were surprised by these words. (.....why would you need to talk to you family members specially parents and get advice or permission from them).
After a while, this guy uttered, we needed a boy and not a girl, and my family members are totally against this operation and we will come again... (of course for next delivery)..... he went off... (with a forced smile on his face)
There would be lots n lots of such incidents happening around us and this issue one of the those kinds which can lead to unhealthy relationships among anybody. I won't get into the much details as we all know in today's world we have lots of good examples where women have actually proved themselves.
Last but not the least... whether your child is boy or a girl... its a God's best gift to humanity... "Please Protect it...don't destroy it"
Soon the day will come when we will be short of girls for marriage and the future wedding cards would look like this....
